Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi"

The Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" is involved in the following national interest projects:

• Executing activities accompanying photogrammetric flights, scanning, and masking of highly important objectives in aerial recordings. The Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" is the specialized structure of the Ministry of National Defense with this obligation, according to Government Decision no. 585/2002 for the approval of National Standards on Classified Information, with subsequent amendments.
• Performing aerial photogrammetry services and creating orthophoto maps in Romania. The Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" is the specialized structure of the Ministry of National Defense with this obligation, according to GEO no. 21/2010, approved with amendments by Law no. 136/2010, regarding the execution of aerial photogrammetry services and the creation of orthophoto maps in Romania for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the collaboration protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of National Defense.
• Performing digitization and updating services of the Agricultural Parcel Identification System based on new orthophoto maps for the territory of Romania. The Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" is the specialized structure of the Ministry of National Defense with this obligation, according to GEO no. 95/2010, approved with amendments by Law no. 136/2010, regarding the execution of aerial photogrammetry services and the creation of orthophoto maps in Romania for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the collaboration protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of National Defense.
• Creating spatial data sets according to the provisions of Government Ordinance no. 4/2010 regarding the establishment of the National Spatial Information Infrastructure in Romania, approved by Law no. 190/2010, with subsequent amendments. The Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" is responsible and a participant for the themes assigned to the Ministry of National Defense.
• Participating with designated specialists in the Commission for Negotiating the Delimitation of the Continental Shelf of the Black Sea with Bulgaria, according to the provisions of Government Decision no. 152/2010 regarding the attribution of the frontier commissioner status at the Romanian-Serbian border, for designating the Romanian delegation's composition in the Joint Commission for the Maintenance and Reconstitution of the Border in the Land Sector of the Romanian-Bulgarian Border, and regarding the amendment of certain normative acts for the implementation of bilateral cooperation documents in the field of state border regime.
• Participating with designated specialists in the Romanian-Ukrainian Joint Border Commission, according to the provisions of Government Decision no. 152/2010 regarding the attribution of the frontier commissioner status at the Romanian-Serbian border, for designating the Romanian delegation's composition in the Joint Commission for the Maintenance and Reconstitution of the Border in the Land Sector of the Romanian-Bulgarian Border, and regarding the amendment of certain normative acts for the implementation of bilateral cooperation documents in the field of state border regime.
• Providing the specific approval of the Ministry of National Defense by the Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 17/2014 regarding certain measures for regulating the sale-purchase of agricultural land located outside the built-up area and amending Law no. 268/2001 on the privatization of commercial companies managing publicly and privately owned state land with agricultural purposes and the establishment of the State Domains Agency.
• The Defense Geospatial Information Agency "Division General Constantin Barozzi" is responsible and the national contact point for the standardization of geographical names and for representing Romania at the United Nations Conference on the Standardization of Geographical Names and the Sessions of the UN Group of Experts on Geographical Names.
